Dear Patient,
It is with great pride that I announce the relocation of my practice to The Gavin Herbert Eye Institute (GHEI) at the University of California, Irvine. As a full-time Clinical Professor in ophthalmology, my role as surgeon, teacher and researcher will expand as I join the world-renowned faculty of GHEI.
I have begun my full-time association as of today, November 1st, 2010. At GHEI, I will continue to provide pediatric eye care in a private-practice setting on both the Orange and Irvine campuses. Additionally, refractive laser consultation and surgery are available at the Gavin Herbert Refractive Surgery Center located in Irvine. I am excited to have the opportunity to join GHEI at this time. We are beginning construction of a new, state-of-the-art, free-standing eye institute and ambulatory surgery center on the main UC Irvine campus. At GHEI, many new research endeavors are underway to shed light on the blinding conditions of macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts. Novel research regarding the potential use of stem cells for retinal degeneration is already funded and leads the incredible vision of integrating technology, industry and research on one campus. If you are presbyopic, over 40 and have difficulty reading without the assistance of bifocals or reading glasses, now is the time to discover the new developments offered at GHEI.
